Paul Washer's True Gospel series is powerful. This is not your average modern feel-good gospel message. This is not an affirmation talk or a seeker-sensitive, non-offensive baby food gospel. It is seeker sensitive in that if God is seeking you, then this is His message.

Anyone who feels like they need a good shaking-up, a good challenge, a serious dose of Biblical preaching, or a solid message on Christianity at its most core level will benefit from this series. Especially Baptists. Baptists, this is for us.

I've listened to this series three times now, and each time I find more and more to humble me, inspire me, convict me and make me tremble before the magnitude of God and the profound depths of His love. This is powerful preaching - it is not the watered down mush for which we have developed so great an appetite. Mr. Washer would be disappointed to be called a "great man of God", but God has certainly used his willingness to preach Scripture as a dying man to dying men in mighty ways. This man's preaching offends those who call themselves Christians but aren't. But such preaching fills the people of God with great conviction, hope and joy because that is simply what the Word of God does.
